Something in the water

On October 12th some of our family filled the church pews to see Bradley get baptized. It was such a blessing!! Owen kept saying "My daddy is going to get wet" Our prayers were being answered one by one. Things continued going great!! Bradley & I were making time for dates and also time for family outings. We don't argue or fight. I'm very independent (or at least I try to think that I am) but It was the little things that I was starting to see like instead of me asking Bradley to cut the plastic away from my new phone case so I can get it out, he got it out for me; or me carrying a heavy bag he would get it from me and carry it. Where had this caring and compassionate man been??

It has been a while since I have blogged, it's hard finding the time nowdays but I am going to try to get back in the habit. Life is good. Basketball, work, school, church, sleep, & repeat. LOL! When did life get so busy & go by so fast!! 2017 has been a great year. Our baby girl turned ONE & is working on potty training. Our big man started KINDERGARTEN, Is playing basketball & he turned SIX!! I don't see how either one of those are possible--Seems just like yesterday Owen was a newborn. 2017 has brought a lot of new friendships, A new loving church family, A new job for me, and a great opportunity for Bradley.  This year we have focused more on where God wants us and less of where we want to be. My favorite scripture of all time is Proverbs 19:21 "You can make many plans, but the Lord's purpose will prevail." This weekend marks a year ago when hell was breaking loose at the Hooper household. My life was falling apart, Between lawyer appointments, looking for a house for Owen & myself, and trying to find a cheaper car I was stressed to the max! During this time I had went with my friend Elizabeth to a consignment sale with our little boys. I was a hot mess, constantly crying. Well on our way home I got pulled over by a cop, of course I was still a mess, & still crying. I couldn't find my insurance card or anything but the sweet man let me go with a warning ( I know it was because he felt sorry for me.) He said "slow down & I hope everything works out for you." I remember as soon as I left i called my mother (still crying) telling her "Something has got to give! I just got pulled over & the cop wouldn't even give me a ticket cause he felt so sorry for me!!" In all things, Give thanks!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. We celebrated by spending time with both sides of our family and of course eating way too much!! Saturday night our church opened it's doors for Room in the inn homeless mission. We had a Thanksgiving dinner for them and they stayed the night at the church. It was so rewarding to help with this mission. I met an interesting man named Frank who has traveled to 44 states telling others about God on his way through. The reason he was in Albertville is he had found a christain pamphlet on a park bench in Gadsden and the address for it was in Albertville. I couldn't help but tear up as he was telling us his story. He really touched my heart and I wanted to give him something back. I remembered Bradley had a disciple cross necklace in his truck that he had made so I ran out there and got it for the man.
