Happy Birthday Ma Jane!!

Image
Happy Birthday to My Grandmother, Ma Jane! I miss her so much everyday!! She was the only Grandmother that was still living when I was born and she was a pistol ball! When she would keep me and the other Grandkids she would cook & if we didn't eat all of our food she would swear we found a hair in it (she would wear underwear on her head while she cooked to prevent that). When we would get ready to go to town- which meant going to Salvation Army, she would say Lord I look like a tramp! She would call you on the phone to tell you what she wanted to say and then hang up before you were even done talking. I have so many great memories of her & I can see so much of her in my Mother these days. I would of gave anything for Ma to be able to meet Owen but I am thankful for all the time I got to spend with her. I still remember the night that she passed away, Mom & I drove as fast as we could to get there, I tried to be strong for my mother but it was very hard to let Ma go but...

Hooper's... Take Two

It's hard to believe that Bradley & I have been back together for almost six months. We have been through hell & back and are still going strong! With that being said.. We have decided to get remarried!! We had planned on getting married on our wedding anniversary (June 18th) but why should we wait til then when we know we are going to be together?? AND another reason I don't want to get married on June 18th, is because our divorce was finalized that day- isn't that ironic? Not long after our divorce was finalized (since I never imagined that Bradley & I would be back together, much less remarried) I sold my wedding rings. As bad as I hate to admit it, I don't regret it. Those rings didn't mean anything, and neither did our vows.  One of the most important people in my childhood was my grandmother Ma Jane. Ma passed away in 2007. She had 9 rings that she left behind for her daughters, granddaughters & great granddaughters. The ring that I picked out,...

Snow for Days!!

Image
For about two weeks now we have been preparing for snow that never came, until yesterday. February 25th- Once the snow started we had 5 inches in no time and It snowed all night long. This morning we woke up to everything covered in 8+ inches of snow. It was so beautiful!! All Owen wanted to do in the snow was build a snowman, play with his trucks and throw snowballs. We have had so much fun for the past two days spending time as a family. I am thankful for the snow because it has giving us a chance to slow down & to enjoy life & all of life's beauty.

A break from Social Media

Image
The past 21 days I have been sweet tea & social media free. The first week I thought I was going to die if i didn't have a sweet tea ( I normally drink atleast two glasses a day) but with each day that went by it got easier. Social media on the other hand was easy!! I didn't mind not being on Facebook or Instagram but I did miss blogging!! I'm not going to lie it was actually very nice not being on Facebook, I didn't get caught up reading all the nonsense that is constantly posted on there. I found myself having more time for myself and my family. Also, not having Facebook has showed me that there is more to life outside of social media & I do believe that certain social media is the devil and that there is NO good that comes from it. Although I will be keeping my facebook activated since I use it to keep up with our church group & my family.. I will make a promise to myself that I will not let it consume my life like it did before I did the 21 day fast.   A...
